There are no capable replacements for these two players, so Real Madrid is still lacking in depth. If they had replacements like these, I believe Real Madrid's attack would be much more dangerous. That's why Real Madrid is now approaching other Liverpool players, realizing that this weakness needs to be addressed. Xabi Alonso's task at Real Madrid won't be easy as there are still many issues to overcome and if the squad isn't deep enough success in his first season will be difficult.
Modric was available against PSG but it didn't help them at all and you could see how often he started on the bench for Ancelotti so he wasn't going to play many games.
