To be able to stop in time during a protracted losing streak, you need to have good discipline. Unfortunately, not every gambler can well control their emotions. Too keen a gambler is more likely to lose their entire deposit trying to break a losing streak, rather than admit they should have stopped at the very beginning.

Gambling is an addiction just like alcoholism or drug abuse. It’s difficult for a person to stop on their own, professional help is needed. That’s why such situations are hard to discuss, because we’re talking about addiction, and simple advice won’t be enough. However, if we’re talking about an emotionally healthy and mature person, then even if they make a mistake and lose a large amount once, it will most likely be a one-time event. This experience can become a valuable lesson that completely kills the desire to gamble, or helps them develop personal rules that allow them to do it safely and responsibly.
