It's understandable that LeBron would want to join a stronger team for one last try for a championship. This could very well be his final season. The Lakers just don't have enough depth. Even if they make the play-offs, it'll probably end in an early exit.
At this point in LeBron's career, the search for a last dance is completely logical. The Lakers have a depth problem right now. Anthony Davis, while dominant at times, lacks consistency, their role players lack confidence, especially D'Angelo Russell, who has been slumping in the playoffs. There are serious contenders in the West like Denver, Minnesota, OKC, Dallas. If the Lakers fail to make a meaningful move this summer and LeBron wants to go somewhere with a more open championship window in his final season, no one would be surprised.
