I guess they are so butthurt about the situation and they see that Bitcoin influence is growing. They try to attack now El Salvador for thinking that they can manipulate the mind of the good leader of El Salvador but Nayib Bukele remain unbothered and continue to do their thing since they see the good effect brought by Bitcoin on their country. For sure the propaganda of Democrats cannot hurt the popularity of Bukele and people will be on his side then people would think that US democrats senators is threat of El Salvador's democracy.
No matter how threatening it is, Bukele does not care about them in any way, he is creating various traps to prevent El Salvador from holding Bitcoin in various ways but he is not able to succeed in any way. Before this, the IMF had tried a lot and the issuing institution threatened and forbade holding Bitcoin, but Nayeb Bukele did not stop holding Bitcoin in any way. This proves that the President of El Salvador, Nayeb Bukele, has never been deprived of his Bitcoin holding and Bitcoin purchase, which is the most courageous sign.
