This topic is meant to serve as a self-reflection for everyone engaged in the daily hustle and bustle, trying to secure their daily bread for themselves and their family.
I know this is one topic no one really wants to talk about, we all try to stay positive. But whatever you do, please ensure there’s a backdoor for your family, especially if you’re married with kids, to access your wealth especially your digital asset. Let there at least be a way they can access your seed phrase.
Let’s take the recent loss of Diogo Jota as a case study. He was a successful footballer playing for a big club. He had just won some trophies and got married barely a week before his untimely death.
By Nigerian standards and with what he has achived at that age, Jota was a very promising person at 28. In fact, most 28 year olds here are still trying to figure life out. So I’m sure, with all his achievements, he wasn’t thinking of anything negative.
His death went viral because he was well known but what about the many others we don’t hear about?
Now Think about it.
Would it make sense to hustle so hard, accumulate wealth, invest, and trade, only for your loved ones to start from scratch when you're gone?
Have you ever really thought about this?
If no then why haven't you?
If yes, then what moves have you taken or How best can you make your digital assets easily transferable in case of the unexpected?
We shall not die but live, and recount the deeds of the Lord. Amen.
Psalm 118:17
Thank you very much OP for bringing up such a sensitive topic. The truth is that death is inevitable, and If we are honest with ourselves nobody wants to die infact at a least 80% of human being around the world live every day without the consciousness that they may die anytime soon. They wake up in the morning and begin mapping out plans on how their entire day would look like, without even considering the fact that they may likely not see the end the day.
Personally due to security reason I do not reveal my seedphrase to anyone not even my family member, but having gone through the OP writeup reality dawned on me that it isn't all about accumulating assets, it is about having a plan. A trusted person, a secured document, a legal note, or some sort of cold storage setup with instructions something that can help our loved ones access our digital assets in case one is no more
Let us not let fear and doubt keep us from preparing for reality.
