Liverpool's striker hunt for Alexander Isak has stopped, this is because Newcastle will not sell him. Liverpool are now turning their attention to Eintracht Frankfurt's Hugo Ekitike. It is known that Frankfurt rejected Newcastle's official offer of £70 million. Other news Frankfurt believes there are clubs interested in paying Ekitike £ 85 million. They are eyeing Ekitike because he is a young Isak who is developing.
I would be happy with either player. Obviously the tragic loss of Jota means we need a striker. Either Ekitike or Isak would greatly improve on Nunez.

There is maybe a lacking information that might explain why Eintrach Frankfurt want such amount of money. First they want some concurrence between Liverpool and Newcastle United to collect as much as they can. Second, Ekitike came from PSG, he was a striker there, performed well, PSG knew his potential and forced Frankfurt to pay them 20% of the amount of the future sell contract. So considering the €80m that will be offered soon by Newcastle (still a rumour) then PSG will collect €16m and Frankfurt €64m only, that's why they rejected the lower offers and asked for more.
