Liverpool's striker hunt for Alexander Isak has stopped, this is because Newcastle will not sell him. Liverpool are now turning their attention to Eintracht Frankfurt's Hugo Ekitike. It is known that Frankfurt rejected Newcastle's official offer of £70 million. Other news Frankfurt believes there are clubs interested in paying Ekitike £ 85 million. They are eyeing Ekitike because he is a young Isak who is developing.

I would be happy with either player. Obviously the tragic loss of Jota means we need a striker. Either Ekitike or Isak would greatly improve on Nunez.

Be interesting to see how this little tug of war with Newcastle develops.

It's so unfortunate that Newcastle didn't get the player the want so in return it's affected Liverpool's chances of signing Isak maybe they'll try again next summer, however Hugo is not a bad signing though I won't say that him and Isak is similar, Isak is a more better option since he's Premier League proven but Hugo would still suit Liverpool's plan atleast he's a better upgrade to Darwin Nunez. Too bad the death of Jota is now forcing them to get a striker else they're in good and ready for next season although a replacement for Jota is very necessary since Darwin Nunez might be sold this summer.
