There are many countries placing ban on gambling operations in their country on both online and offline, for either religious reasons or as measure towards curbing gambling addiction. But is it making result? while several other countries are rather lifting their bans with less restrictive regulatory policies.
Bans have never solved any problem. Not like gambling is a problem, at least not to me but, the idea of placing ban on a thing just produces another market for that thing, one that would be more shady and attracts more value to itself. When you are able to provide that which is banned or scares, of course you reap good money from it but, the consequences are often dire which makes it a lot more difficult to run.
In many cases, most of these guys buy them corrupt government officials into their pockets.
