Some casinos will give you back good % of your net losses every week, but only if you keep playing for their tiered VIP system. Does the rebate really make us take smarter risks, or does it trick us into going after losses we would normally just walk away from?

Rebates look sweet on paper but theyre basically a loyalty leash. The house waves free money and nudges you to keep chasing sessions you would normaly quit, a classic sunk cost trap with a shiny VIP sticker. Even a refund of around 10 to 15 % means you still eat 85 to 90 % of the loss and variance keeps kicking. If you wouldnt make the same bet without that extra carrot then its not protection, its just marketing.
So if you lose 100k and the site you played on offered you 20k back, you would not accept it? I don't know about you but I am taking the free money. Even if they attach a wager requirement, it's still free for you to lose or run up.

OP you're not keeping anything safe if you had to lose to get a rebate. They're just a way to get people to keep gambling and maybe lose more to the casino. I'm not against rebates but it is what it is.
