One thing you must know is that once you retire as a Super Eagles player, the Nigerian government is not responsible for your well-being again because they paid you for your service as a Super Eagles player, so I won't blame the Nigerian government for neglecting Kadiri Ikhana on his sickbed. Our retired Super Eagles players and present players should leave wayward life alone, and they should prioritize investing their money wisely so that when they experience any health challenge, they can be able to solve their problem by themselves rather than relying on the Nigerian government or individuals to help them solve their problem.
I hope that what this ex players are going through when they need Nigerian government's recognition and financial assistance should be a lesson for the present players to never rely on the government for any assistant. Clearly what the government is concerned is about the match bonuses and other stipulated payments to their athletes, after that everybody is on their own to take care of their welfare. Kadiri Ikhana, should have known better than relying on the Nigerian government for help, he should have learnt a lesson from the other players that were relying on the government. When athletes are in their prime they should make adequate provisions for their retirement instead of blaming the government for not taking care of them. Afterall the super eagles is not a football club, it's a national team where players are invited from time to time to represent their country.
