I've learned that despite winning the cup, Chelsea have not secured a spot in the next edition of the FIFA Club World Cup, which will take place in 4 years. They have to re-earn the spot.
What's funny is that PSG already earned their spot in the 2029 edition by virtue of winning last season's Champions League.
Weird rule, but it's straight following WC rule. I have nothing to complaint here. It's caused by the world cup winner has to qualify to ensure it can play in the world cup. It's same as CWC, which is following world cup format.
There are still plenties of time for Chelsea to re-earn their spot in CWC 2029 through winning on the next editions of UCL or finishing at the top 8 of club ranking.
There's no need to feel worry about them. I think they can do it.
