Real Madrid got humbled by Paris Saint-Germain in the club world cup and there's absolutely nothing to reason about, the best team win and lift the trophy. Real Madrid is trying so hard to accommodate potential players although it's clearly obvious they couldn't stand and fight against the elite teams, alot happen resulting in them sitting back the corner. I don't think they're ready yet to hold onto winning games except they're done recruiting new players. Real Madrid new coach, Xabi Alonso have surpassed any doubts holding him back from been in the category of top managers. He's a crucial manager where no one can easily beat him and get away with it.
But PSG were humbled by Chelsea and it was Chelsea which lifted the trophy, did you miss that?

Separate games are not an indicator of the overall potential of a team. It seems to me that Real has everything it needs to be in the group of main favorites in every tournament in which it participates. Unfortunately (or fortunately haha) we will see the next important games between top clubs closer to winter, so each club has time to improve their game or even completely rebuild it.
