That's my expectations on him too, Xabi must have spent a season or two at Madrid before anyone would start to question or judge his credibility and ability to be coaching Real Madrid, Alonso is still an upcoming coach in the managerial job and can't even be compared with Ancelotti's experience with managing a football club. I believe with time, Alonso will replicate his achievements in Bayer Leverkusen at Madrid but not something that will happen immediately as many were so desperate to have seen him win PSG and the club world cup.

No one is doubting how good Xabi Alonso was at Bayern Leverkusen, the big Question is can he do the same with Real Madrid. To be honest, with what I watched in the FIFA club World Cup, I’m not convinced with him, and one thing with big teams is that they don’t give you much time to be able to prove yourself. Next season he needs to win something, Real Madrid are use to winning trophies and that exactly what they sign him for.

Their defeat against PSG has left many doubting Xabi Alonso's abilities, and they're also unaware that PSG themselves suffered a similar fate at the hands of Chelsea. For me, this isn't a worrying thing because in football, anything can happen beyond expectations, and while it's true that Xabi Alonso hasn't fully adapted to make Real Madrid stronger than before it's not surprising.

Ancelotti has been a coach for so long and has successfully delivered titles to the teams he's managed. Comparing Xabi Alonso to him is unfair, as Xabi Alonso is just starting to build his coaching career. It will take time for him to make Real Madrid stronger and I don't think it will be achieved in a short time as many people wish.
Only if Real Madrid will give him the time, I also would say I’m not convinced with his team performance in the club World Cup. He needs to fix a lot of things, that defense in particular, high profile defenders needs to be there. I would say a good defensive midfielder too, if by the end of this coming season he doesn’t win anything they slot of eye brows will be raised and maybe his future in Real Madrid will be quetioned.
