A degree is pretty useless, not just now but for a while. Companies prefer candidates with actual knowledge and skills about the tasks they are recruiting for. In the past, they used to hire top scorers and provide the necessary training for a while at their own cost. But students are not aware of it yet, they spend hundreds of thousands to get a degree but they realize about it's worth only when it's too late.

Depends. Healthcare is always high in demand. Dentists, nurses, medical doctors will have no problems with getting a job no matter what happens. Even AI cannot take their jobs away.
But now we have technology where surgeries can be done remotely, a surgeon doesn't necessarily need to be present at the location. If I am not wrong, China has already demonstrated a surgery using robotic hands that was operated from a different location so it got some risks too.

Well nurses are in demand in the USA and their is a huge shortage of them.

Doctors are a different story in the USA .

But if you live in the USA and are starting collage get a nursing degree there will very likely be a job for you when you get out.

To explain the fuckupedness of Doctors in the USA is very hard to do in 1 thread.

I do have a true story my friends dad died right in front of him from an asthma attack.

My friend was a pharmacist at the time he could not save his father. So he decided to become a doctor.  He had a Pharmacy degree from Saint John's College in NYC in the 1980's St Johns was a goto college for Pharmacy. His average was 3.85 which is very good.

He took the medical admissions tests in 1984? maybe 1983. There are 14 sections

his scores were

01) 99 percentile
02) 99 percentile
03) 99 percentile
04) 99 percentile
05) 99 percentile
06) 99 percentile
07) 99 percentile
08) 99 percentile
09) 99 percentile
10) 99 percentile
11) 99 percentile
12) 99 percentile
13) 95 percentile
14) 99 percentile

Guess how many USA medical colleges accepted him

zero

he went to one in Grenada

and what happened when he was there

So for doctors I am not a fan of USA college system
