No that’s not true. Gambling has many positive sides.

Smoking and drinking alcohol are also harmful but as long as you don’t overdo them, they won’t destroy you.

Same with gambling.

Like the other bad habits I mentioned, as long as you are in control and having fun, gambling is no different than watching a movie at a theater.

It is full of entertainment if you ask me.
Of course that's how gambling was supposed to be until some greedy people saw it as an avenue to make their net worth. And it is people like this that the casino owners tries to exploit. Gambling when done in the right way will serve as a medicine to the body and healing to the soul. Because it transform your mood, lift your spirit and makes you feel happy. You laugh and share moments with others. So abusers of gambling shouldn't make us feel that gambling has nothing good coming from it.

As far as I know, gambling is said to have appeared around 3000 BC and the first game was dice.

Its original purpose was for entertainment, to help people relax, socialize...and gambling only appeared during festivals and holidays. However, over time, as societies became more complex, economic factors began to become more important. Gradually, the habit of gambling for entertainment disappeared and instead, gambling became a place for people to make money.

To me, modern gambling is no longer about entertainment, it is a place for people to make money and whether we admit it or not, we gamble for money, not for entertainment. People who say they gamble for fun are just trying to hide their greed.
