People on forums can be your discussion buddies if your close friends are not comfortable enough with the topic. I also have friends like that, but we still go out and chat together. It's just that I will never bring up topics related to Bitcoin and others when I hang out with them. It's better to bring up general topics to talk about.
Their fault for not believing in Bitcoin, then letting it go. Now enjoy your own benefits without having to share your experience with them. Let them digest their own understanding of Bitcoin when they start to realize the truth of what you say.
