I think this £70m came out after Newcastle turned their attention to get Mbeumo, like the transfer market is getting hotter and hotter. Liverpool went on to get the striker Hugo Ekitike that Newcastle was suppose to get and they (Newcastle) saw that they couldn't make move for Hugo Ekitike that was why they turned to get Mbeumo and that pushed Manchester United woke up to splash in the £70m to get the player.
