Obviously, we should respect the religion and the beliefs upheld but what about those who are not Catholic and would wish to continue to gamble? Does religion have the right to be included in conversations regarding gambling if their beliefs cloud their judgement?

There is a separation of state and religion in the country.  I can say that the religion can speak out on what they believe, but they don't have the right to push it to become a law or regulation of a country. So to say that the influence of the catholic church should remain in their group/denomination, other than that, people have the right to do whatever they want to.  They can follow the belief of the church or oppose it, or just plainly ignore it.
