Work is changing everywhere, and it’s messing with our lives
Companies are splitting into two groups:
Companies that prefer you to be in the office daily, and work long hours, all about speed and hustle. They believe faster and better when they are together in person. However, a lot of employees become stressed, exhausted, and even sick. We saw OpenAI (the big AI company) close for a week because their people were exhausted. Many good people leave these companies, and it is getting harder to find new workers
Ouch!, I've literally forgotten what it felt like to work in an office building. The burnout is real and the work is mostly exhausting, I've been sleeping since 4PM to have some energy to do other things like I'm doing now. Doing with together still depends on your profession. In the tech world, we still collaborate through Meetup software like Google meet, zoom, slack etc and it still feels like physical, but the touch with your social side fades gradually.
Others that provide greater flexibility: work at home, flexible hours, focus on results, not time in the chair. Workers here are more likely to stay, are happier (57% more satisfied), and companies lose fewer people (25% less turnover). However, remote work is not ideal as well. Some feel lonely and at times you may be left out of promotions or salary increment, especially when you are a woman or have a family to care for
Here companies are using cost-efficient strategy, from saving on office buildings, stationary, power and even retirement benefits. Everything is done at to promote life financial inclusion effectiveness for the company, while the worker bears every operational cost at little agreed payment schedule.
Are we creating a healthy future of work or new methods of burnout? Are these so-called flexible jobs fair to all or are we creating a new form of workplace inequality? How can we make work better not just to the company but to real people?
Not really, I've gained considerable weight during this period on remote work, I literally had to employ gym routines to not get obsessed and I've lost touch to a great extent with socialism that comes from physical interaction among workers, although I love this with due to its flexibility, but I think it's more stressful though
only that you stress yourself at your own chosen time.
