Liverpool's striker hunt for Alexander Isak has stopped, this is because Newcastle will not sell him. Liverpool are now turning their attention to Eintracht Frankfurt's Hugo Ekitike. It is known that Frankfurt rejected Newcastle's official offer of £70 million. Other news Frankfurt believes there are clubs interested in paying Ekitike £ 85 million. They are eyeing Ekitike because he is a young Isak who is developing.

It seems to me that Isaac remains the main option and the other options are just a way to show that Liverpool are not limited in their choice (a way to strengthen their negotiating position). In general, Liverpool is behaving very strangely (after so many years of relative modesty) on the transfer market - they have already broken the transfer record by buying Wirtz and now want to break it by buying Isaac. It turns out that in one transfer window Liverpool will spend more than 250 million euros.
It doesn't seem like Newcastle are dead willing to let go of Isak at the moment, hence their price tag of €150m on him and it's very unlikely that Liverpool will be willing to break the bank for Isak on that fees. Wirtz's price isn't anything Liverpool will want to break for another transfer right now so I even see Eintracht Frankfurt's Hugo Ekitike as a possible alternative, and from his records I think he's worth what his club are offering him out for.
