Shopee is known for very cheap items and I doubt there will be people wanting to pay in bitcoin. And is bitcoin that big in south east asia? But I thought that if bitcoin gets accepted in shopee, it will be a huge sign of adoption.
Bitcoin is widely known here in Southeast Asia particularly to the young generation who are into investing. Though they are some that are still skeptic about bitcoin especially old generations and those who have been victim of a scam.
If shopee adopts bitcoin, it will definitely increase people's awareness to it. Those who are still afraid to use it might change their view and learn to use the technology.
I'm a regular buyer at shopee and I always pay through online merchants. It would be good if they will accept bitcoin payments on their platform so that it will be more convenient since I won't be needing to convert it to fiat first.
