Mbeumo is a good signing, but I feel like United overpaid for him. If not for the fact that they're prioritizing premier league players this transfer window over players from other leagues, I believe they would have looked elsewhere. I quite understand Ademola Lookman wasn't on United's radar, but paying €50 million euros for him would have been a lot better than splashing £70 million pounds on Mbeumo.
Here we go again with people saying Manchester United have overpaid for a player, yes in the past this particular market price is simply outrageous but in this current market condition I will say he was worth it, let calculate this, Mbeumo was fought highest goal scorer last season with 20 goals and an impressive 7 assist, he was just two goals behind Halaand and three goals behind Isak who is rated at €100m at the moment. So for over two seasons now the impressive numbers that he has put up is what made him to be worth that much although I think if Manchester United had actually hasten they could have gotten him for €65M but Brentford were smart enough to force them to add the €5M even though it is just ad on bonus and not part of the deal.
For the €50M stated I don’t think Mbeumo can be gotten because even Elanga was worth more than that and you can compare him with Mbeumo at the moment, Chelsea also got Madueke for similar amount too. So without any option I think it is worth it. Not that I am against Ademola Lookman but Manchester United were looking for an out to out Right winger which Ademola Lookman is not
Look, Osimhen only cost 75 Million Euros.
Other teams are still struggling to sign strikers, there's a team either want to sign Isak for 150 Million Euros or Ekitike for 80 Million Euros. Another one want to sign Mbeumo for 70 Million Euros. Osimhen might be equal to Isak, his price is half than Isak.
I have no idea why teams in top leagues don't want to sign him.
Although I will say Osimhen for €75M is a very good bargain considering how he has performed in the past few season and easily one of the top Strikers, but we need to know that Clubs have their own prefer kind of players, for Liverpool they are seriously playing a pattern that will suit Isak more but I don’t think they will get him at that amount. Osimhen deal is also complicated considering he was asking for a huge wage which is the difference maker in a deal plus the saga with Napoli. Osimhen also set some priorities like not wanting Manchester United because of their lack of European football next season
