I see madrid for now is no longer its lucky season to win the UCL title even though madrid is famously tough in the UCL zone but the gods of luck don't seem to be on madrid's side anymore this season so it is very difficult for xabi alonso to be able to strategize with such a large number of star players..
There is little decline in Real Madrid's performance this season; that's why Real Madrid couldn't perform very well this season, which caused Real Madrid to finish this season trophyless. After Real Madrid got eliminated from the Club World Cup by PSG, Real Madrid has shown concern about recruiting new players in the transfer market, so I believe it won't be difficult for Xabi Alonso to change Real Madrid's performance next season.
I agree with the decline, but I also believe that was due to injuries. They had so many players missing so many games and because of this they weren't at their %100 and that caused them to lose. However, if they can achieve a situation where they can win, then we are going to see them do a lot better.

This is why the best case right now would be making sure they are going to end up with better result this season if they can stay healthy. Way too many people act as if they will keep getting injured like last season, or they act as if they lost last season because they were bad. In reality, a 100% healthy Real Madrid could win everything again, or at worst case win the league. They will be a force this season at UCL without a doubt, and if they can stay healthy, win the whole thing.
