I’m building a new crypto gambling site and I want to get a sense of how much people care about KYC.
Do you avoid sites that ask for it? Or do you not mind as long as the site is good and trustworthy?
Also, are there any gambling sites that actually handle KYC well or make it painless?
Curious to hear your thoughts.
I don't really like KYC. There are many reasons for this... 👺
For example, people don't want to live worse today (poorer, less free, etc.) than they did yesterday. I am no exception. If I could gamble yesterday without KYC, why should I go through it today? If I let people and circumstances uncontrollably worsen the quality of my life, I will end up "sleeping in a ditch and eating scraps." 🧟
There is a strong tendency to limit people's anonymity and privacy on the Internet. I don't really like this tendency. The right to privacy is one of the basic natural rights of any person. If I gamble, I don't want all eight billion people living on planet Earth to know about it. At the same time, I don't think that I am doing anything illegal or shameful. But this is my personal business. My personal life.
There is also such a thing as personal data security. By going through the KYC procedure, I transfer my personal data to the online casino. How well is the storage of clients' personal data organized in this online casino? How safe is it all? What measures are taken to prevent data leaks? I don't have an answer to these questions... 🤷
All of this (taken together) makes me feel bad about the prospects of going through KYC procedures.
