Bitcoin will maintain its leadership due to its decentralization, scarcity of supply, institutional acceptance and regulation.  However, it is an ambitious idea that it can maintain this leadership indefinitely. Because even though Bitcoin has revolutionized a lot of things, its basic function is limited. Today, climate issues are taken seriously by many governments, and Bitcoin mining has the capacity to consume large amounts of electricity.

This could lead to environmental pressure and regulation. If there are no serious regulations, Bitcoin will remain the cornerstone of the crypto world for many years to come, but there is no guarantee that Bitcoin will remain the leader indefinitely.
