Looking at the points Leverkusen collected last season, actually, they experienced a significant drop in performance, a 21 point difference from the previous season when they won the trophy. Fortunately, they were still able to finish as runners-up and even spent a few weeks in a tight race with Bayern Munich at the top of the table.

We realize that many people are currently doubting Leverkusen chances of winning a trophy next season. The departure of Xabi Alonso, followed by several key players, is the main reason, and that reason sounds very logical. Essentially, I share the same thought. However, it feels unfair to judge Ten Hag too early based on his poor reputation with Manchester United. Who knows, Ten Hag might be able to live up to expectations next season, we'll have to wait and see.

In contrast to the Premier League, the german Bundesliga is easier for Ten Hag and a top 5 finish should definitely be possible. But if he also fails at Leverkusen, it will be clear to everyone that Ten Hag is not a good coach. Even if some important players have now left, the team is still strong enough for the Bundesliga and Xabi would certainly have reached the top 3 with this team.
Yeah, the German Bundesliga is easier than the Premier League, and it is expected that Erik ten Hag will guide Bayern Leverkusen to finish in a good position in the Bundesliga league table, but if he fails to achieve that with Bayern Leverkusen next season, everyone will have no choice but to agree that Erik ten Hag is not a good coach. Bayern Leverkusen still has a good squad that can compete in the German Bundesliga and win their matches, and if Erik ten Hag fails to perform well with Bayern Leverkusen next season, he shouldn't blame it on some of the important players that left Bayern Leverkusen this season.
