For us neutrals anyway, we'd love for someone to give that a try. I don't think drivers are beholden to team loyalty the way footballers are -- would love to see that sort of mixing up next season.
It's not going to happen, but they are capable of dying in the attempt... so...
imo:
Well...you: "to have an eye for something", it's one thing to perceive it, and quite another to read...
Yeah! and it hasn't changed since the 70s, I think. These guys want to become world champions and they don't give a damn about team loyalty, then to be honest not all of them, some are, since in that idea, I think the point is ulterior motives that it's on both sides.
Without going too far, It seemed disloyal to me, (there have been many examples throughout history) but Hamilton's was "normal" to the average fan, but it seemed disloyal to me, even to the point of being a "stab in the back."
I watched the 2024 season (F 1: Drive to Survive), and unless Toto is a great actor, which I don't believe, his reactions to the news and his mentioning that he had no idea were real...
Then, and without wanting to make you the mayor of this thread, or better yet, to say, in the best American way, "Buwaytress for president," what you mention is real, but I think it's more common at the national team level. I'm not saying it doesn't exist in league teams, but with any sport, your country's national team has that commitment of loyalty.
Then in football there are surely many examples, but I think the only genuine player who represents that concept, who doesn't exist, not even remotely in F1, but in some football teams, is Steven Gerrard. ((Be careful, there are many cases, I know there are many fans PL
