I think the cards are stacked in Ousmane Dembélé's favor. He deserves it for all his achievements, although I have another player I'd like to see there, and that's Vítor Ferreira. I don't think Lamine has achieved enough to deserve a Ballon d'Or. I think there's just media overvaluation going on here. Maybe he'll do better in the future, since he's young and has promising talent.
Agree with everything you said here. When you look at the season PSG just had, it has to be Dembele or Vitinha.
There’s no way it can be Yamal. He is probably the most talented out of those three, with the highest ceiling but he was not better than them this season.
The only reason why Dembele is widely regarded over Yamal is because he won the Uefa champions league. But is the Ballon d’Or award giving based on that? PSG will go as far as they did with many top strikers in Europe but Barcelona will not be the same without Lamine Yamal. When Barcelona needed a hero in games that was almost lost everyone looked at the then seventeen year old Lamine Yamal and more time than not he delivered them.
It’s Yamal for me, Barcelona were so unlucky to have missed out on a place in the final, the match would have been a very big deciding factor in the Dembele and Yamal ballon d’Or rivalry.
I agree that Yamal has scored some of the most important goals last season for Barcelona, but Dembele has scored important ones and Raphinha has scored some of the most important goals. As all of them behave well and have all performed on a level higher than that of most others, i wouldn't want to have to pick the winner here. It would be fair for all of them to win it and while I think it should not only be about titles, truth be told that titles count and that's right. It is not that Dembele only won the Coup de France, he won everything there is except for the FIFA Club World Cup.
It's us fans who want the CL to be the most important competition and that is why I think it should count of a player wins it. Dembele didn't score five goals. He scored a lot and made their play much stronger in many games. Yamal did the same, but only one can win it.
