OP you are correct to stop corruption in a nation
that corruption has eaten dip into them will be a
very big problem for a newly elected president.
Especially a nation that corruption has reached
there grassroot, being there small town and
villages.
However the president can stop the corruption and
make the nation work well again but it will take time.
But the problem is that if the office of the president
is 4 or 5 years according to the constitution of that
nation is impossible for him to totally stop it in that
period of time but he can reduce it with that number
of years he or she will be in office.

No Nation on earth is corruption free and so all the
leaders in different nations should keep fighting it
till they end it totally or reduce it to 5 percent out
100 percent.
I most also congratulate some leaders that has tried
there best in reducing the corruption in there nation
and for those leaders that are still not doing anything
about stopping corruption in there nation please start
now.

Four to five years is a long time and if serious enough, a head of state should be able to handle and reduce the number of corruption cases. Because it does not work alone, the government has many components that can be invited to work together to resolve this. In fact, if a head of state serves more than one term, it is very feared that a dynasty will be created, collusion that makes it easier for them to commit corruption. and if so, what does democracy mean.

furthermore, I agree with your view that no country is free from corruption, and that is because crime will always exist before the world really ends. However, what needs to be emphasized is how to reduce the number of corruption cases in each country. Corruptors are a sharp thorn in the government, their behavior really hinders the progress of a country and the achievement of prosperity for the community. The law must be enforced as strictly as possible, because what happened in my country, the law is sharp downwards and blunt upwards. Where someone who steals wood can be imprisoned for up to dozens of years, corruptors who clearly harm the state are only given a sentence of a few years, and even then in a prison with luxurious facilities like a hotel.
you are right, tackling corruption especially when it has deeply rooted itself even in local communities is never a quick fix. You're right, no president can completely wipe it out in just one term, but real progress can begin with strong will and consistent action.
It takes both leadership and the people’s support to make a difference. And yes, credit must go to those leaders who are genuinely trying. As for others, it’s never too late to change direction and start doing what’s right for their nation. Ending corruption is a long road, but it’s a journey worth taking.
