West Indies being a country into Olympics completely unfair thing because they are participating in this event with different flags which is nothing new and most chances Olympics committee will never allow them to have spot here with this name they all needed to be had their separate teams which could be better. England is also competing in this with different flags which is good for them so here having West Indies is not good to deal all teams needed to be had qualifiers and then top six teams could be into this event for Gold medal game.
Currently, Australia, India and New Zealand are best teams in shorter format I am expecting them to fight for top spots others are having nothing better chance but on their day Proteas and England can also do good, but Pakistan is having no chance for anything good.
You make good points. It is unfair for West Indies to compete as one team in Olympics as Games are for individual nations so their players should represent their own countries separately. You also suggest better system would be to have qualifiers to pick top six nations for gold medal. And yes in shorter cricket formats Australia India and New Zealand are best likely battling for top honors while South Africa and England can be good on their day and you are right Pakistan has no chance due to recent performance and this is highlighting conflict between cricket unique team setups and Olympic rules with realistic look at current team strengths.
