Update Your Device
Due to the severity of this threat and the potential risk to your assets, we strongly urge all users to update their device. This new update contains critical security patches designed to protect against the vectors used in this attack and fortify your device's defenses.
Ledger instead of offering to update hardware wallet should recommend replacing their device with HWs of any other manufacturer. This would be the best recommendation. Smiley

We deeply regret any concern this situation may cause. Your security is our absolute priority, and we will continue to provide updates as our investigation progresses. Please do not hesitate to contact our dedicated support team via our official help center at support.ledger.com for assistance.
Should their regrets be accepted if, due to their unprofessionalism and shortcomings, the user lost his savings?

Ledger is the worst hardware wallet in existence, and no serious person should be using it.  The breach and potential loss of assets must be related to the Ledger Recover feature that stores people's seeds on their servers.  Most people on this forum saw it for the horrible idea it is right from the get go, so I hope none of you fine folks are affected.  If you used that service, check your seeds!
Ledger as a HW device, in general, technically remains reliable (still not hacked) and in the bundle ledger + electrum, for example, will perform its functions. But what the company does in the form of dubious services raises great doubts and, as you can see, attempts by the ledger to "take care" of its users \ their wallets only create even greater problems.

If at the very beginning this company seemed trustworthy, then with each year (and new fack-up) there is a feeling that it is better to stay away from them.

Is anyone else planning to buy their hardware wallet? Smiley

If this isn't Ledger's death knell, then I don't know what will be.[/s]
Until every user of the company's fackup is personally affected, nothing will change.
