Mikel Arteta is very happy with the transfer of Noni Madueke from Chelsea to Arsenal this summer for a total £52 million. Madueke’s move was officially announced yesterday and the player will join the others on their pre season tour today. Congratulations to Madueke who is now a gunner, I hope he proves his critics wrong next season!
I hope Madueke does better at Arsenal than he did at Chelsea. Now the next priority has to be signing a striker, because as long as Gyökeres doesn't come, Arsenal's biggest problem from last season, the lack of goals, won't be solved.
There are too many right wingers now. Madueke has arrived, Nwaneri's contract has been renewed, there's Saka and Reiss Nelson is also back from Fulham. One of them will probably have to leave. Saka and Madueke would be the main choices, with Nwaneri getting minutes in rotation over a long season. Nelson could be loaned out again or sold.
An interesting detail is that all three of these right wingers at Arsenal; Madueke, Saka and Nwaneri are English players of Nigerian origin.
Their major problem is a striker and they're still in pursuit of Gyokeres so since the deal is not yet sealed it doesn't stop them from strengthening other area. You could see what happened to the club when Saka got injured last season so I believe that's why Arteta signed Madueke in case of such situation moreover they could sell either Trossard or Martinelli.
