For someone who was retired for several years and only had months to train, Pacquiao gave a great show. To be honest, I didn't expect it to be a draw, I thought it would either be a win or a loss for Pacquiao (I already saw people saying Pacquiao won the fight tho ahaha). Also, you can see in this fight how age has caught up to Pacquiao.
Pacquiao wasn’t so dominant, but it was clear he was ahead on the scorecards that he landed the cleaner and heavier shots on Barrios. Still, a draw is fine I guess. It just means Pacman’s effort wasn’t enough to take the belt this time. In the rematch, which Barrios already said he’s open to, I hope Manny goes all out from start to finish. Now that he’s no longer busy with politics, he can really focus on the fight.
Yes, I do think that Manny was robbed again in this fight, for me he should be ahead in points as he control the latter part of the fight. And I don't think that Barrios leads or did better in the championship fights as others might have suggested. So I can't imagine those two judges, they didn't see that Manny is scoring and getting the better of Barrios. You can see the disappointment on Manny and some of his fans as we all know that he could have really be the winner and his hands should be the only one being raised. I have nothing against Barrios, but as what we have speculated, he is the weakest of the 147 lbs. So he remain the champion, but we will have to see what will be the next stage on Manny. He is still well love by fans around the world and I think he can still give us a good fight.
I think a draw is the most fair result, because Pacquiao had no advantage and although we must admit that Pacman did a phenomenal job in his 46 years and sometimes it seemed that it was “the old” Pacman of 00-10th, especially when he roared at the opponent, but it is clear that Pacquiao has not such a high speed that was before, which is logical at his age and he can not attack as often as before.
Frankly speaking more surprised Barrios, who looked quite modest against Pacman and except for tight jabs nothing memorable and Barrios got a draw apparently for the last rounds, which he spent better than Pacman, especially the 12th.
