I dont know how it all happened that you gambled too at a young age, but honestly the responsibility is on you to break this trend of passing it on to your kids and I think you missed that opportunity of giving your daughter to venture into other interests...just hope she does teenage stuff and mingling with friends and not staying indoors looking at a screen and gambling as a way of fun for them.
If it's tech she loves, why not shift her interests into forex/crypto trading and nobody will be mad about it.
Is a good sense and I agree with you because since the daughter has slipped through his objection to gamble he should now take it as a duty to stop this from spreading the way is not supposed to but if he doesn't do anything now this might not only affect the daughter but also give the public something to say about them because if someone's daughter starts at that age definitely they might also grow and marry to have children who will also gamble like them, so that's why the father should act immediately and not to procrastinate about this and I think both the wife should also play role on this. Perhaps what she loves as you said could be a perfect distraction for her towards drifting from gambling.
