This is a great way to look at it and I bet a lot of early buyers wish they followed this train of thought. So many people had thousands of Bitcoin in the early days which they sold for pennies. Always hodl should be the motto, at this point I feel like $1 million per bitcoin is a given it just feels guaranteed to happen. buy your btc and set it aside to be untouched. It might help people to have a collectible mentality to Bitcoin, collect them like they're special rare coins that have sentimental value and don't sell them for garbage fiat.

But on another side what you're saying is also true in a literal sense lol, because to many people are using custodial bitcoin platforms now where other entities hold their coins. Not your keys not your coins so in many peoples cases their bitcoin literally isn't even theirs.
