We all know that gambling is addictive by nature. No matter our financial status, anyone can fall into addiction. But is banning it entirely really the only solution?
Gambling isn't the only thing that people suffer addiction from. It's just that most people see gambling as something irresponsible people do. So, anyone seen indulging it is often termed as irresponsible and loved ones or friends will do all they can to liberate the person from it; so to say.

And what could be the possible consequences if gambling were banned in a country? Can you share some thoughts or examples?
I don't see how the government can succeed in banning gambling and it stays. Even if the government finds a way to restrict gambling IPs from being accessible in the country, trust Nigerians; they will find a way around it with the use of VPN like they did during Twitter ban by the Buhari administration.

Anyway, if hypothetically it happens, I believe that will leave so many people in frustration and maybe depression too. A lot of people see gambling as their joy giver.

Notably, we should realize that some of these politicians are gamblers themselves. Some even own casinos and bet shops. These ones won't just fold their hands and watch their colleagues cripple their businesses.
