I know most of you might think I’m an irresponsible gambler after reading this. But let me share a bit of my story first....
I started gambling when I was around 10 years old, IIRC. It was because of family influence, and yes I eventually got addicted. Hard to admit, but it’s the truth. over time though, I’ve seen some positive outcomes from my gambling experience. I became wiser, more calculated, and a bigger risk-taker and I was able to apply that mindset in running my own business.
Now, I’m a father, and my 17-year-old daughter is starting to gamble too playing slots and even doing some sports betting. I don’t know how to feel, part of me feels oddly proud of what she’s doing.
What does that make me?
We have to look at gambling from different justifications. Legally by age, I think she is good enough to start gambling because the gambling age is 16 minimum but if it's morally, then I can say that you have not been competent. Kid of 17 years old is supposed to be focus on his life and how to be something better tomorrow, more like focus on education and other skills and not some random skills that are not guaranteed of high giving you anything in return.
She is a lady, she deserve better life than having gambling on her door steps. I don't care if there is any kind of fun here, I just think it's better for her to have something better doing than allowing her to gamble. Heaven will not fall if she doesn't gamble, kids behaves and follow the things their parents told them. If you have been feeding her with gambling or watch you gamble, it's your responsibility to make it right while she is still tennage, it will be impossible if she becomes an adult.
