This question is for those gamblers that were once addicted to gambling and was able to come out from addiction.
It will depend on the definition or time frame that could seen as suffering from gambling addiction. I have been hooked on gambling for a few weeks, and I don't know if it could be qualified as addiction.

How did you go about it?
I realised that you cannot chase losses and beat the house. My short gambling disorder resulted from chasing losses. I observed that I was losing more money when I thought I wanted to recover my losses. Through meditation and a few materials from the internet, I stopped.

Was someone there to help you out or you took the bold step all alone?
Nobody even knew I was battling with uncontrollable gambling activities. I never wanted people to know that I was gambling since I was a dependent.

How long did your addiction last?
Can't actually remember, but it was a few weeks, maybe three months or so.

What's your best advice to gamblers fighting with addiction?
Understand that loss chasing and greed are the main causes of gambling addiction. Set up a gambling budget and follow it meticulously.  Gambling shouldn't be seen as a source of income and only gamble with what you can afford.
