Gambling addiction is something that has grades; there is a level that your addiction can get to where you won’t be able to get out of it yourself. You will need the help of people and even a therapist if need be. If you are still in the early stages, you can easily task and discipline yourself to get over it by just trying as much as you can to distract yourself from anything that has to do with gambling. Success in getting out of addiction is based on determination. If you are not determined, no amount of help from outside can help you out.
You are correct we have different levels of addiction and I believe that most gamblers have been in one level of it at a particular time, it doesn't have to be full blown addiction. If you gamble responsibly but always get the urge to always gamble or keenly looking forward to your next session it could be a mild addiction but fo gamblers who have totally lost control of their gambling, they are the ones that are fully addicted. The first step to getting help is for an addict to recognize that they have a problem and that they need help, I believe that with this getting solution will be effective because the addict is determined to stop.
