Gamblers and drinkers have different goals. If drinking habit was paid or rewarded with something, addiction comparison would go in different direction Cheesy

Dont know about the rest, but for me stop drinking is much easier than stop gambling. I can easily go with 1 beer during whole party, switch to beverages and observe other get slowly drunk or funny Cheesy But, when everyone are gambling around, I can not place only one bet and become a spectator. Its so easy to not to drink by saying "I have to drive today, I need a clear mind" and nobody would even try to involve you into drinking. But with gambling, those who gamble will try to get you in the game by all methods Cheesy
It's a good trick when you don't want to drink, you say you're driving today, it always works. With gambling it should work just as easily, but when there's a good company that's pulling you to play poker, it can be very difficult to refuse, and saying you're driving won't help. Smiley With betting it's also difficult, if I know that there's a match that I'm going to bet on that evening, I'll have to follow that match, it can be very difficult to just skip it.
