The government certainly loses in taxes by imposing a casino ban, but how much money does the government spend on gambling addiction rehabilitation centers?
It seems like a simple argument: I sell gaming services and pay taxes, but considering that we often find ourselves with chronically addicted people to manage, all of this becomes a burden.
Perhaps the states that have decided to impose the ban have a higher percentage of gambling addicts, and the cost of all this is greater than the revenue a casino would bring in?
