Surely a newbie might think that a verified user (basically the premium user's stickers) wouldn't try to scam people.
It's for this reason people are told that, "admins will never PM you first." It simply means that we should be weary of anyone sending us PM first unsolicitedly. For me, it doesn't matter how trusted the person seems; even if it's a known name here in this forum, once you PM me about transactions I get suspicious of a scam attempt.

How would you refer to a complete stranger who wasn't even and hadn't been added to your contact as trusted? Do I take it that you meant the scammer shared the same username as someone you felt you knew?

Even at that, for the fact that they chatted you first calls for caution. I meant even if it came from a true friend genuinely, it's still better to have a video or audio call to ascertain it's actually who you think is chatting you up.
