Let's say when gambling, you follow a specific pattern. Let us use lottery for example. You bet on the same specific set of numbers. What would be more regrettable? Betting on the same set of numbers for the rest of your life and not winning or... changing up the set you bet on only for your old set to win?
OP I understand the point you are going and I experience this kind of regrets on the casino spinning.
You keep on betting on a specific odd or color overtimes but the spinner arrow never comes to my direction but once I bet on the other outcome is when the spinner arrow points on the formal segments I have been betting on and was loosing.
What I do in such scenario is to opt out in the main time because I will begin to have that mindset that the house edge is doing some manipulations and not to have a bad time I just exit until other times.
In that case I can not tell what decision feels more regrettable because no either way is guaranteed to assure winning instead I hope on better luck in other times.
