Another reason why some countries gamble more than others is economic or national recession. When the economy of a country is damaged and people are finding it hard to get by especially when jobs opportunities is minimal and scarce people would turn to gambling as a means of livelihood but at the long run they would get into more trouble as a result of gambling with the expectation to get rich from it
This also contributes to an increase in gambling activities between countries, but when a country is down on job opportunities, their economy is also worse than the other countries. Are the people there not supposed to focus on skilled jobs and self-development in order to be able to raise something for themselves?
Another thing that contributes to the increase in gambling activities in different countries is the mentality that is common there; if the people are convinced that they can get miracle money from gambling and escape poverty, they will likely get involved and focus on gambling instead of doing other things that can fetch them money.
