It does, addiction and habits take over the place of novelty. Without it gambling would become rather boring.

If you are extremely rich and you can just gamble up to your heart's content, does the novelty of winning wear off? Like would you get tired of gambling since there's really not much risks because you can gamble with any amount and still receive little to no consequences?

You will have an adrenaline rush even with smaller amounts according to your budget, but I think it should be considered as a fun activity, and I always recommend setting up a budget. You can lose, for example, $500; you add that, and you make a rule to not play more, whatever the circumstances.
How many people successfully follow this strategy and how many end up losing more than they should is my main question about these issues.
