How religious the country is will also determine their gambling habits. It doesn't matter how wealthy the people over there are or how vibrant their economy is, if the country has more religious population their gambling activities will be extremely low compared with countries that doesn't care much about religion. So this should also be put into consideration when deciding why some countries gambles more than others.
Justbillywitt you are right however it depends on the kind of religion, not all religion is against gambling so if a country have majority of there citizens practicing a religion that is not against gambling they will gamble but if majority of the citizens are practicing a religion that those not support gambling then majority of the people won't gamble so that is how it works.
Some people believe all religion is against gambling that is not true not all religion is against gambling.
For me the countries that gamble more are country where there's unemployment, citizens in this kind of country focus in gambling because they believe that is there only hope to become rich, in my country majority of the gamblers there don't gamble because they want to have fun alone they gamble because they want to make money from it because the standard of living is very high they see gambling as a side hustle.
In a country where there's employment and the standard of living in low majority won't gamble trust me.
