If it's just going drunk for one night or two it's better but I can tell you for a fact that alcohol has destroyed the life of some people, maybe not in your place but in my locality, when I was growing up, there was these few men I know there were very rich but alcohol addiction made the poor and useless. One of them lost his job because of being drunk all the time, one lost his business because he could not manage it again.
Gambling and alcohol share one similarity, both can be addictive.
If not controlled properly, they can lead people down a path of destruction. There are many examples of this all around us, and we can easily find more in various media. In my opinion, alcohol destructive power is greater in the long run because it intoxicates and impairs a person common sense. Someone who is drunk finds it difficult to control their emotions. While with gambling, even if a person acts excessively, they typically do not lose their sanity, which allows them to realize their mistakes more quickly. However, this does not mean that one is better than the other.
That's what am trying to explain since some people thinks that alcohol doesn't have much addictive effect like gambling, maybe they don't know how some people have become addicted to alcohol that they get drunk every day and night. A drunk can not even think properly or manage anything like a business or job. I remember the first night I got so drunk, I broke the screen of my phone that night and also hide the phone under my mattress, when I woke up the next day was around 12pm with a severe head ache, first I started looking for my phone without remembering what happened the previous night. When I finally found the phone, it was damaged in a way I had no memory about. So, being addicted to alcohol can really be bad.
