There are modern better ways to fight gambling addiction such as which I have proposed in my opinion:
> Regularly educating your citizens on national TV programmes about the negatives of compulsive gambling. You can be sponsoring these programmes through the revenues accrued from taxes paid by these gambling companies. Or these companies could as well partner with initiatives and sponsor it.
> Provide skills acquisitions programmes and avenues of adequate job opportunities, because a lot of young people trooping into gambling are doing so as a result of a lack of sustainable means of income which makes them to see gambling is the all embracing means to make money.
Regularly educating your citizens on national TV or radio stations won't stop an addicted gambler to stop gambling most of them sees gambling as their only source of making money, gambling are specifically made for rich people even when a rich man is addicted to gambling people won't notice because he is not coming to beg anybody for money to gamble they don't even sell properties just to gamble.
For the government can provide some skills acquisitions as you have mentioned create job opportunities to their citizens both graduates and undergraduates i know there is no way it come get everybody but it will come how reduce the rate of of addicted gamblers in the country, been idol is not very good when occupy with some work your rate of gambling will definitely reduced.
