To their credit, it was not that easy to recover from 15/5 to 125. But thanks to some solid batting by Faheem Ashraf, and also as a result of crucial runs scored by Abbas Afridi and Ahmed Daniyal, Pakistan came very close to winning the match. I understand the strategy from the Pakistan selectors. They went for a second string side, because they thought that it would be enough to defeat a weak team like Bangladesh. But from what I can see, the lack of player depth is an issue for Pakistan as well. Their second string players don't have the capability to defeat even weaker teams.
It doesn't really matter how close they got since they still lost thanks to which the series comfortably went to the hosts and that is what everyone will remember at the end of the day. Pakistan messed up big time.
The division between top teams and mediocre ones keeps widening as time passes in literally every format of cricket.
