I didn't check Ekitike's stats. I've been hearing his name in the transfer window, and I thought he's been scoring an average of 15 goals per season and could get better in the couple of years. I guess it's the number of goals he scored last season that's why Liverpool paid £79 million pounds for him, which seems like a big gamble on their part. I just hope he won't be the next Hojlund.

Ekitike is a striker who is very good on the ball. You can be assured that with a layer like that, the buildup play will be very smooth, but he is not worth the money at all. He can score 20+ goals for Liverpool next season, but you don't spend money like that for a striker that guarantees just 20+ goals; you do that for a player that scores 30 goals or more a season. Since they have gotten him, I can say it's a good signing, but it was too expensive, same with Wirtz.

Liverpool, in this transfer window, was not ready to go into a bidding war with the player they wanted. They simply paid the asking price of the players' club and called it a day. Good players, of course, but not a sustainable way to do business.
